Information Corner

In most schools, the school culture has become synonymous with popular youth culture.  What is important to the students is the latest fads, what music to listen to, and what the "cool" thing is to watch on the television or internet.

At Immanuel Christian School, we are purposefully developing a different kind of culture.  We are transmitting a system of beliefs... things like being diligent, honest, and careful in work.  In relationships, we hold out the need for respect, kindness, pure speech and integrity.  We teach the obligation of taking care of our possessions and other's belongings as well.  We hold out submission to authority as God's means for becoming wise.  Our cultural thought system is based on the Word of God and its Author.  Third floor students will gain an understanding of the world from its Creator who is all-good, all-wise, and all-right.  They will be exposed to Jesus Christ as the means by which individuals, and therefore the culture, are transformed.

Our desire is that these students will have a thoroughly Biblical world view.  They will pursue learning, desirous of understanding the world and being submissive to God's perspective.  They will be able to make connections between various disciplines of study, seeing the whole.  They will be able to articulate these perspectives to others in persuasive ways.  They will be stimulated by study, wanting to know more.  They will be able to apply truth to themselves.  They will build and maintain relationships of devotion to God and to one another.  They will be servants who are able to lead.  Our goal is to have students graduate from ICS that will be useful in expanding God's Kingdom all over the globe.

To that end, we have an 8th grade leadership group, high school retreat, prayer breakfast, city trip and a many ways to serve the community and school (see Service Opportunities).

Love for Christ, service before self, and in all things, honor.
