The Resource Room is designed for students with special needs other than learning disabilities. These students are identified through professional testing done at the parent's expense or through school district services. All students are subject to the same requirements established in the application and enrollment procedures. Once accepted, they will be placed as a classmate to the grade which would be age appropriate. All students are in their homeroom for at least one class. After opening exercises each day, they report to the Resource Room where they are guided through their work by the teacher in a one-on-one or small group situation. They develop social skills through interaction with classmates. Student schedule is determined with the help of the parent. Parental involvement in the classroom is encouraged.
